Nice looking car. Interior looks great. The more I see these cars with cloth upholstery, the more I like 'em.

Very nice.
Looks like a new car, not bad for 126,993 miles.

I guess you could say that the cloth upholstery cars are much rarer, thus more collectible! I have only ever had two out of 30+ E24s. In my experience, in good condition they look really good, but once they get worn there is little one can do to improve them as opposed to leather which not only gains a patina over the years, but also can be re-connollised.

You make a very valid point there, Pod.

#249 is listed at £45,995. Owned since 1993.

I was just looking at the additional photos. Such a nice looking car and then a worn front BMW badge... :(
And the wheel badges as well.
I would have exchanged them before I made any photos.

How right you are. Plus a mark near to the bonnet badge and on bonnet, tatty front 'M' badge and paint missing/clear coat peeled off (?) on the offside front wheel arch extension - or is it just a reflection? To correct that paint damage could be pricey, with possibly new paint for complete panels or even full front end? Can be very difficult to match! - thus the lower asking price? Also damage to rear bumper. Don't forget the saggy driver's seat squab as well

Under the bonnet, isn't the sound-deadening foam looking a little tired. And do I see evidence of corrosion below the bonnet shut line of the n/s/f wing???

Gotta stop there or I'll turn into an anorak - and TBH it is a good-looking car in good condition overall.

OMG Pod, now the car looks less attractive :D . At first glance it was a fantastic looking car but you are right, when you focus on the details, you can find a lot of imperfections. What I do like is that it looks like an original car.

I also think I see a few small rust spots, but most E24's from the UK suffer from this I assume.
It's most likely like ron mentions "They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought"

Currently offered at £34,995.

4 Star Classics are also ebaying it for the same price but with no success so far. There must be a reason why it is not selling.

Has anybody been to inspect it?

Looks like they've sold it - eventually. Ebay description amended on 27th September to note that a deposit has been taken.

I wonder how much it fetched? Since it was on sale from late last year, I assume they didn't even manage the £34,995 it had been reduced to back in the summer.

Did anybody inspect it? If so, what was wrong with it that it took so long to sell?

Is anybody on this board admitting to buying it :-k
