FS: Getrag 260 5-speed from 1981 633

Post by billy bee »

We have used this trans in our race car for about 6 races. Shifts perfectly. One of the shift mechanism bosses has been repaired (by us). Replacing the M30/260 combo with an M54. Otherwise, we would not hesitate to run this indefinitely. It had about 135k on trans before we started racing the car. We ran RedLine MTL in it. Comes with everything pictured, below. Flywheel was turned about 4 races ago and a new clutch installed. Also, I think this has a more desirable, lighter flywheel. Don't hold me to that, as I forget the details and am too lazy to look it up.

Located in San Luis Obispo CA. Pick-up only. I don't want to deal with putting it on a pallet or screwing around with shipping companies. Sorry.

These are selling on eBay for $1000 and up. I will sell this one to a Big Coupe member for $800. Not looking for the first buyer. Looking for a good home.

Email only to motobill at gmail. I don't check PM's.

Thanks for looking,
Bill

This is still available, and I am softening my position on shipping. May be willing to ship. Email me and say nice things. I'll pop it on a pallet and can fork it onto a truck. I cannot take it to a depot. It would have to be pick-up at our shop (residential). On your dime, of course, including coast of materials, if any.

Also, I am driving across country for a race at Barber early next month. I could also be persuaded to bring it along. I will charge for this. You'll be paying me to step over it in the aisle of my motorhome from SLO to where ever you are. I hate having stuff in the aisle of my motorhome. Plan on taking I-40, but may be forced to take I-10 -> 20 if the weather looks sketchy.

I was asked for pictures of the flywheel, both sides... Here you go.

Billy,
Do you still have this gearbox? Is this a drop in for my 1983 633csi?
Thanks,

You would need to find a bell housing for your crank sensors. Motronic fuel injection requires these, the series one cars are L jetronic and don't have the mounting provisions.
