Parting 1985 635csi
Purchased this Cirrusblau/Pacific 5 speed car last year as a manual trans donor for my '87. Fuel line failure led to a small underhood fire taking it off the road. It's a very complete car and outside of the swap parts and the driver-side fender I don't have a ton of use for it. PM me for anything you might be looking for, I'm trying to recover some cost but mostly looking to support the community. Located in Twin Cities MN Metro but it is a very dry CA car, happy to ship within reason.

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Why parting? Looks salvageable from the photo. Could I swap good parts over from my wrecked 633?

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
It is salvageable, but not by me. It has some pretty serious previous owner disease so would need a lot of love to set right again. I seriously thought about saving it but don't have the time/space, and my '87 is just a better car despite having some rust. If you are really interested I would consider selling the complete shell once I pull the trans stuff.
Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Does this car have a front air dam, under the bumper? If it is intact, uncracked and has all its brackets, I'd be interested in purchasing it.
Looks like it could be missing though its hard to tell from the photo.

I'm the second circling vulture.
In desperate need of a fan speed control, at minimum. A complete HVAC panel seems more likely. Let me know if yours is available and functional. Shipping would be to 33908.
I have some other needs as well. I'll discuss them if the HVAC panel is available.

BCMac - No air dam, unfortunately.
Ross - The car does power up so I will hook it up and check function on the fan speed control. Engine does not run so won't be able to test full function on the HVAC but will figure out as much as I can and advise.

Updates:
Re: air dam - it does actually have one, but it is the pre-'85 "high nose" dam that tucks up under the bumper, not the original cow catcher. Guessing that's not what you were looking for but if so, lemme know.
Powered car and not getting response from the fan, but will need to test further to see if it is the control or something else.

What condition are the kidney grills in?
Re: Parting 1985 635csi
The high nose air dam is indeed what my car has.. looking for the lower, more visible version. Thanks for checking.

also interested in the gauge cluster, if it is available. Located in Massachusetts.
Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Grilles are...serviceable. Both have light dents and pitting - I have had good luck straightening/polishing aluminum trim, so I think they are imminently savable, but not great as is. Apologies for the grungy photos, happy to pull them and clean them up if you are interested.

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Cluster is in very good shape - bezel and lens are uncracked, car does not run so can only verify everything lights up as it should, and the fact that it will absolutely need odometer gears. I'm okay shipping both domestically and internationally. Open to offers.

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
interested in interior temp sensor and its plastic mounting panel - this is up above the clutch, should have a vac line and a power connector going to it.
Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Temp sensor I have pulled and set aside for you - regarding mounting panel, do you have a pic? I think it was just stuffed behind the kick panel when I dropped it but if I saw the part I might be able to track it down.

I don't know because mine is missing..
judging from RealOEM it should look like this:

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Cautionary tale - DO NOT try to clean the accumulated schmutz inside a cabin temp sensor with CRC Lectra-Clean electronics cleaner - it completely dissolves the styrofoam insulator that separates the element from the housing. Kronus, my apologies, ist kaput. My intentions were good. Also, no joy on the mounting - mine was floating free inside the knee bolster.
Better pics of the cluster now that it is out:
Overall condition is quite good - I restored the cluster in my '87 and this is nearly as nice as my finished product in condition - lens is free of major scratches and completely uncracked. Bezel is in good shape as well. 9/84 to 10/84 component build dates make this original to the car, though it looks to have been serviced at some point due to the "remanufactured" labeling.

I actually have the foam bits - the thing that's broken on mine is the sensor board. we may be able to make one good sensor out of two bad ones?

Do you have the tail light bezels available?

Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Would you post photos of the seats, if still available please
Re: Parting 1985 635csi
Hey gang, apologies for the delayed responses, just got back from some unanticipated travel. All PMs responded to.
Seats - they were aftermarket and not of good quality, definitely not worth the cost to ship them.
Sunroof - good condition, zero rust. Inner fender - looks clean and dry from what I can tell, car has no evidence of rust anywhere, but will need to pull the fender itself to be sure. Will advise once it is off. I'll consider both of these held for you you 88m6 until I can get you pics.

Updates - cluster is sold, thanks Chuck!
I owe some pics to a couple of you of the steering wheel and since I haven't figured out how to send them in PM, here ya go. Coarse spline M-Tech I, all horn buttons work, M badge present but worn, leather was thrashed so I removed it, all foam in excellent shape - good recover candidate.
