OK, putting my car back together, I am stumped by the connectors at the bottom of my Windshield washer reservoir at the pump.
There is a black and a brown wire that looks like it's coming off the pump motor. However, there are also terminals in a "T" configuration at the back of the motor. In the picture below, there's a harness that fits right onto the terminals arranged in a "T". I am holding it in my hand. The female connector had slipped out of the top of the "T" connector and I jut snapped it back into place. I looked in the Bentley wiring diagram and it looks like the wires coming out of the "T" connector are the right ones for the windshield pump motor.
So the mystery is the black and brown wires, each shrouded in a special connector that are also coming out of the back of the pump.
What are these for? I can't find a wire coming off the harness that would even reach these. Any clues would be much appreciated.

Re: Windshield Washer Pump Wiring
Song,
Page 129 has the wiring colors to the pump.
It's an ETM from 1985 but should be similar to 1984.

Thanks Bob, you may have confirmed that those wires are just orphaned.86_6series wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 11:29 am Song,

Looking at the wiring diagram it shows three wires going to the pump. Brown/Black and two Violet/Blacks (coming out the top in the diagram). Here's a picture of the connector on top of the reservoir. You can see that there is one Brown/Black and two Violet/Black wires running to the connector. You can also see that I have the level sensor connected already. So everything checks out. Still there are those two extra wires coming off the motor. If anyone knows any different, please chime in. Thanks.
