Analog installation plans, but foggy outlook :(
OK peeps, i want to replace the digital clock with this analog unit, and it works, but the fascia is not good
I tried to use glass cleaner on the outside, but I'm not sure if that's the issue or if it's on the inside

Try polishing compound . I think it's plexiglass so it will polish easier than glass. Good luck

Best stuff i've found for polishing plastic is Plexus. You can find it at motorcycle shops. By the smallest size they have. A tiny bit goes a long way.

I've used Zona 37-948 Polishing Paper on both marine & motorcycle gauge faces with great success, its available on Amazon. Whatever you do not use any product that contains Cerium Oxide powder, paste or liquid polishing compounds.
I recall Abel or Bfons posted an Analog Clock install/swap in the Tech Section some years ago. It's pretty straightforward & the only wire not used is Violet in color.
Knowing you I'm sure you've already addressed cleaning up & regreasing the Outer Fan Control ring bearings & U-Joints. I did an Analog swap about 12 yrs. ago on a 1982 Sixer, the grease was the consistency of Sludge...

Welly well well, uncle Dug to the rescue
That is some huge input
I was just going to post that the lens cleaned up rather nicely with polishing compound
I did have some of that "plastic headlight cleaner kit" stuff, but it's pretty much dried and shot, but plain ole polishing compound removed all of that hazy stuff
I'll get a photo up, but the exchange of clocks, along with a likely ton of other work back there, I'll surely start a new thread
Thanks for the tips gents
PS: there's possibly another link with photos that Ralph posted, I need to find that

Ken, I was thinking about you while reading this thread in the "For Sale" forum
viewtopic.php?t=33226
It is in AL, after all
I know, just what you need, another project

LOL! My wife would hunt you down and shoot you for suggesting it right after she shot me for bringing home another project.
Seriously, I am facing the reality that due to physical challenges I can no longer do any major work on my cars. Simple stuff, like routine maintenence, yes, but the kind of major work several of them need, no. It takes me 10x longer to do pretty much anything these days. I may be passing some of them along soon. It's a reality all of us must face at some point. Beside the cars I have a large collection of amateur ("ham") radio gear that I'm going to thin out. I'm not planning on pushing up daisies any time soon, but the reality is I'm no spring chicken, and I'm not in the best of health. Just trying to plan ahead a bit.
