Brake MC and steering coupler replacement complete

Post by GRNSHRK »

Well, this task took quite a while, in large part because it's been on the cool and damp side here in CA :-?

Plus there was a lot of cleaning and messy work involved, difficulty removing the original steering coupler mounts thanks to a stuck bolt, and a lack of motivation, which is not like me :-({|=

The vacuum booster also required a repaint, and removing it gave me plenty of room to access the steering coupler, so that was a bonus, in a weird sort of way

The steering coupler is actually an E28 unit, thanks to Ralph in SoCal =D>

And speaking of painting, I just couldn't install the new MC in black, so I "had" to paint it blue \:D/

Here's a few shots, I need to take a few more with the work complete, system bled, etc.

Thanks Ken =D>

Actually, I have a lot of blue touches under the hood, SS hose fittings that you can see a few of, the Roundel on my hood pad, I even used blue tie wraps

This paint color, while it almost matches the blue in the Roundel, is actually Ford engine paint blue [-(

But I won't tell if you won't :-"
